Duplicating Lines in 2D Figures
Use the Duplicate tool to create copies of geometry lines in 2D figures. You can create linked and unlinked duplicates of geometry lines.
Linked Duplicate is only available for original geometry lines (not user created lines). Linked Duplicate retains a link to the part the original geometry line belonged to. Updates to the original geometry, such as moving, scaling or hiding is applied to the linked duplicate.
Unlinked Duplicate is available for both original geometry lines and user created lines. Unlinked duplicates do not have a link to the original geometry line or part, so updates made to the original geometry will not be applied to the duplicate.
To Create Linked and Unlinked Duplicates
1. Select one or more lines to copy.
2. Perform the following:
For linked duplicates, click Duplicate > Linked Duplicate.
For unlinked duplicates, click Duplicate > Unlinked Duplicate.
The linked or unlinked duplicate is created and placed on top of the original geometry line unless a duplicate offset has been set.
Duplicate Offset
Linked and Unlinked duplicates are placed on top of the original line. To offset a duplicate from the original line, perform the following procedure.
1. Click File > Options. The Creo IllustrateOptions dialog box opens.
2. Next to Showing, select Global.
3. On the left, under General, select 2D Figures. The General-2D Figures page opens.
4. Under Offset between original and duplicated element, set the Vertical and Horizontal offset in pixels.
5. Click Apply to apply the settings and keep the dialog box open, or click OK to apply the options and close the dialog box.
