About Grids
Grids assist you to maintain direction and relative position when drawing lines, beziers, rectangles, and ellipses in Creo Illustrate. To display the grid in a figure, toggle the upper part of Show Grid. You can select a grid plane from the lower part of the button.
Grids are created using the global coordinate system of the parent 3D figure.
To Set the Global Grid Options
1. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens.
2. Next to Showing, select Global.
3. Under General, select 2D Figures. The General-2D Figures page opens.
4. Select Show grid to display a grid for the 2D figure, and then select a grid plane.
5. Set the following grid parameters:
Grid units
Grid spacing
Grid color
6. Click Apply to apply the settings and keep the dialog box open or click OK to apply the options and close the dialog box.
To Set the Snap to Grid and Align to Grid Options
1. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens.
2. Next to Showing, select Global.
3. Under General, select 2D Figures. The General-2D Figures page opens.
4. To snap figure elements to the grid, select the Snap to grid check box.
5. To align figure elements to the grid, select the Align to grid check box.
6. Set the Snap distance in pixels.
7. Click Apply to apply the settings and keep the dialog box open or click OK to apply the options and close the dialog box.
