Effects of Replacing an sBOM Part
When you replace an sBOM part with an eBOM part, the children, properties, combined items and annotations can be effected.
Children
Replacing an sBOM assembly removes all its children.
Replacing an sBOM item with an eBOM assembly, adds all its children.
Properties
The properties of a replaced sBOM instance are updated.
The eBOM instance name is applied to the sBOM instance (even if the original sBOM instance was renamed).
The visibility properties for the replaced sBOM part is taken from the replaced item.
Combined Items
New sBOM item will not be combined.
Annotations
All annotations will be deleted for items that are not in the sBOM tree.
For one to one replacement of items with geometry — annotation will be preserved.
*
Dependent geometry will not be preserved.
Item list and callout display tags will be updated with new tag names.
Annotations are removed when an sBOM item with geometry is replaced by an eBOM item without geometry.
