To Change the Display of Attributes in the Attribute Manager
You can change the display in the Attribute Manager dialog box to facilitate your work. Sort the attributes, filter the list, expand and collapse items, and place emphasis on the items used in the figure. Instructions for these methods follow.
The filters you set in the Attribute Manager apply only to the display in the Attribute Manager dialog box.
To Sort and Filter Attributes for Schematic Figures
1. Click Tools > Manage Attributes. The Attribute Manager dialog box opens.
2. To sort attributes, next to Sort by, select a sorting method:
Attribute Name—Lists the attributes by name. Expand a name to see the item types with this attribute name.
Item Type—Displays the types of items. Expand an item type to see the attribute names associated with the type of item.
3. To filter the list of attributes, follow these steps:
a. Right-click the list of attributes and select Filter Attributes. The Filter Attributes dialog box opens.
b. Under Show In Attribute Manager, show user-defined attributes, attributes from the imported data, or both:
All attributes
User-added attributes only
Do not show user-added attributes
c. To hide unused attributes, select Only items in the current figure.
d. To make it easier to inspect attributes with missing values, select Only attributes with a missing value.
e. To filter attributes by name, select Name, and then select Matching or Not Matching.
f. Next to Text, type the text to match or exclude from the filter.
g. To make your settings the default display for the Attribute Manager, click Make Default.
h. Click OK. The filter is applied, and the dialog box closes.
To Expand or Collapse Items
To increase or decrease the amount of information shown about each category, right-click the list of attributes and then select one of these actions:
Expand All
Expand Selected
Collapse All
Collapse Selected
To Change the Emphasis on Used Items
By default, attributes that are used in the current figure are emphasized in the Attribute Manager dialog box. Clear the Emphasize used items to remove the emphasis.
To Filter Attributes for 3D Figures

The Attribute Manager for 3D figures, is only available in Structure Edit mode.
1. In the Attribute Manager dialog box opens, click Filter. The Filter Attributes dialog box opens.
2. Select the Categories matching check box, and then select one or more check boxes in the Category Name column.
3. Select Names, and then type the text to include or exclude in the Text box.
4. To make your settings the default display for the Attribute Manager, click Make Default.
5. Click OK. The filter is applied, and the Filter Attributes dialog box closes.
