Working With Report Results
When a report is generated, the report results are displayed in the Report Results dialog box. You can mange and sort the report results. Note that not all options are available when the Report Results dialog box is opened from the Find dialog box.
Managing Report Results
To manage report results, right-click and choose a command from the shortcut menu or use one of the following buttons:
• —Regenerates the report.
• —Saves the report in one of the following formats:
◦ CSV Files (*.csv)—Saves the report as a comma separated value Excel file.
◦ Text Files (*.txt)—Saves the report as a comma separated value text file.
◦ CoCreate wire list (*.ecad)—Saves the from to wire list information as a pipe separated value file for use in CoCreate.
◦ CoCreate connection list (*.con)—Saves the connector information as a pipe separated value file for use in CoCreate.
• —Generates a report table.
• —Exports the report to XML.
• —Highlights the selected artifact shapes on the design sheet. If the selected artifact has shapes on multiple sheets, you must choose a sheet to open. You can also select a reported artifact, right-click, and choose
Show from the shortcut menu.
• —Highlights the top-level parent shape of the selected artifact on the design sheet. If the selected artifact has shapes on multiple sheets, you must select a sheet to open. You can also selected a report artifact, right-click, and choose
Show Container from the shortcut menu.
• —Displays the selected artifact parameters. Note that there are no shape properties, because the report displays artifacts, not shapes. You can also select a reported artifact, right-click, and choose
Properties from the shortcut menu.
• —Deletes the selected artifact. Available only if none of the selected artifacts are displayed on any sheet. For example, wires that are automatically created by the wire assignment tool. You can also select a reported artifact, right-click, and choose
Delete from the shortcut menu.
• —Opens the
Catalog Explorer dialog box to view the selected artifact.
• —Places a new shape of the selected artifact. When the item has more than one shape, the
Select Shape dialog box opens. You can also select a reported artifact, right-click, and choose
Place Shape from the shortcut menu.
• —Places a new selected group member. You can also select a reported artifact, right-click, and choose
Place Member from the shortcut menu.
• —Instances the selected item on the sheet.
• —Places a new instance of the selected item on the design sheet. When the item has more than one shape, the
Select Shape dialog box opens. This option is only available when a single artifact is selected and it has at least one shape.
• Additional right mouse button shortcut menu options:
◦ Submit—Submits an item to the Temporary Submission Directory.
◦ Reverse Direction—Reverses the direction of the selected fiber segment.
◦ Fix Direction—Fixes the direction of the selected fiber segment.
| Double-click artifacts in the report to locate their shape in the design. If a selected artifact shape is not on the open sheet, the relevant sheet is opened automatically. If the artifact has shapes on several sheets, the Select Sheet dialog box opens, select the sheet to open. |
Sorting Report Results
You can sort report results by column when you click the column header. To filter the report results, select an option from the following lists:
• Column—Sets the column for the filter.
• Operator—Sets an operator for the filter. See the topic

• Value—Sets the value to filter by.
