Example: Flattening a Quilt
Case 1: Flattening a Quilt Using the Default Placement
This figure shows a quilt to flatten. The coordinate system CS0 is selected as the origin point.
The next figure shows the flattened quilt (shown on top of the source quilt) in its default placement. Notice that the flattened quilt is tangent to the source quilt at the origin coordinate system CS0.
Case 2: Flattening a Quilt with the Placement Option
The next figure shows a quilt to flatten. The coordinate system CS0 is selected as the origin point. The coordinate system PRT_CSYS_DEF and datum point PNT0 are used for positioning the resulting quilt.
The next figure shows the flattened quilt. The flattened quilt lies in the xy-plane of the coordinate system PRT_CSYS_DEF. A vector created from PNT0 to CS0 is aligned with the x-axis of the xy-plane.
