To Create a Hyperelastic Material Using Tests
This procedure assumes that you have completed the steps To Create a Hyperelastic Material.
1. Use the Hyperelastic Material Definition dialog box to choose a material model for the hyperelastic material. When you open the Hyperelastic Material Definition dialog box, Creo Simulate automatically creates a test, Test1, in the test area the dialog box.
2. Select the Type of the test. Uniaxial is the default type of test.
3. Select Test > Import or click on the Hyperelastic Material Definition dialog box to import an ASCII file containing the stress-strain data. Otherwise, specify the stress and strain values in the table.
Creo Simulate plots the stress-strain data in the graph area.
Creo Simulate displays the best fit curves for all material models by default. Each curve has a unique color. You can choose material models to display the best fit curves.
4. Select a material model to Show Best Fit Material Model Curves. Click a check box for any model. Creo Simulate displays a stress-strain curve for that model, which closely fits the data specified in a Test.
Creo Simulate displays the RMS error and validity of selected material model for the specified test. If a material model is invalid, Creo Simulate displays a red exclamation mark, , for that model.
5. Select a material model to define the hyperelastic material in the Select Material Model area.
By default, Creo Simulate selects a model and displays Automatic in the Select Material Model list. The name of selected material model and coefficients for that material model appear in the Select Material Model area. Creo Simulate uses the stress, strain data specified in tests and best fit curve to calculate values of coefficients for any material model. You can change these values.
6. Clear the Use Best Fit Coefficients check box and specify the values of coefficients for the material model.
7. Click OK to accept the model to define a hyperelastic material.
Creo Simulate displays the name of material model and the values of coefficients in the Material Model area of Material Definition dialog box.
