To Create a Sketched Thin Beam Section
1. Click Refine Model > Beam > Beam Sections. The Beam Sections dialog box opens.
2. Click New. The Beam Section Definition dialog box opens.
3. Select Sketched Thin from the Type drop-down list. Click Sketch to open the Sketcher window and define your sketch.
4. Click Sketch > Coordinate System to assign a reference coordinate system for your sketch.
5. Sketch the cross section of the beam. A default global thickness is assigned to all line segments in the sketch.
6. Double-click the thickness value to change it.
To assign thickness to a chain, perform the following steps:
a. click Sketch > Setup > Feature Tools > Chain Thickness.
b. Select a chain.
c. Middle-click the chain and select a location for the thickness note.
d. Specify the value of thickness for the selected chain.
e. Click .
To assign thickness to an individual entity perform the following steps:
a. Click Sketch > Setup > Feature Tools > Entity Thickness.
b. Select an entity.
c. Middle-click the entity and select a location for the thickness note.
d. Specify the value of thickness for the selected entity.
e. Click .
7. Click File > Setup > Feature Tools > Connect to create connections for sketches with unattached chains or line segments.
8. Click . On successful creation of the beam section the Sketcher window closes. You return to the Beam Section Definition dialog box.
9. Click OK.
