About Regenerating Models
When Creo Parametric regenerates a model, it recreates the model feature by feature, in the order in which each feature was created and according to the hierarchy of the parent-child relationship between features. Regeneration can fail for reasons such as bad geometry, broken parent-child relationships, and missing or invalid references. Creo Parametric attempts to provide critical information so that you can decide what steps you need to take to resolve or prevent a problem.
If you set the sim_auto_regen_enabled configuration option to Yes and if the model has changed and requires regeneration, Creo Simulate regenerates your model automatically each time you reenter the Creo Simulate environment.
Creo Simulate checks your model for changes and if a regeneration is required, automatically regenerates the model before initiating the following commands
FEM meshing command
AutoGEM dialog box
Run command (from the Analyses and Design Studies dialog box)
Batch command (from the Analyses and Design Studies dialog box)
If you set the sim_auto_regen_enabled configuration option to No, Creo Simulate asks you for confirmation before regenerating the model.
The following operations change the model in such a way that it requires regeneration:
Closing the Parameters dialog box after changing a parameter
Changing a simulation feature by changing any of its dimensions
Changing a simulation object, used in relations on the right side
