Creo Simulate > Modeling Structure and Thermal Problems > Meshes > FEM Meshes > Controlling a FEM Mesh > To Create a Mapped Mesh Control

To Create a Mapped Mesh Control
1. Click Refine Model and then click the arrow next to Control in native mode. Click Mapped Mesh. The Mapped Mesh Control dialog box opens.
To access the Mapped Mesh Control dialog box from FEM mode, click Home and then click the arrow next to Control. Click Mapped Mesh.
2. Type a name for the control, or accept the default name.
3. Select one of Brick, Wedge, Quad or Tri in the Region Shape area to specify a shape for the meshing region through points and vertices.

* In FEM mode you can select only Quad and Tri as the shapes of the meshing region.
4. Select a default subdivision value from the Default drop-down list.
5. Select references for the meshing regions by selecting entities. You can use points, vertices, edges, surfaces, volumes, components, mesh region edges or mesh region faces as references for creating a mapped mesh region.
Tip: As with all collectors, be sure to use the Ctrl key when adding entities to the collector. If you forget to do so, the already collected entities will be replaced with the newly selected entity.
6. Select sets of meshing region edges that must have consistent subdivisions to give them a subdivision value other than the default. You can select nondefault divisions edge set value 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 in Native and 2, 5, 10, 20, 50,100 in FEM mode from the Subdivisions drop-down list.
7. Click OK.
