Thermal Resistance Interface
Use the Thermal Resistance interface to model an imperfect thermal bond in a model in the thermal module of Creo Simulate.Creo Simulate considers that the interface region has conductivity different from the surrounding surfaces. You can specify the conductivity in the Properties section of the Interface Definition dialog box.
Heat Transfer Coefficient—Specify the heat transfer coefficient for the interface. The heat transfer coefficient is the heat that passes through the interface per unit time, per unit area when the temperature difference between surfaces is one unit.
The heat transfer coefficient H is defined by the following formula:
H=Q/ΔT
where:
Q is the heat flux density or heat transfer rate per unit area
ΔT is the temperature difference between the interface surfaces
The unit of heat transfer coefficient is heat/(time*area) when the temperature difference between the surfaces is one unit. For example, in SI units it is W/(m2*K).
The default value of the heat transfer coefficient is 0. You can specify any non-negative number other than 0.
Creo Simulate automatically creates two interface measures when you select Thermal Resistance as the type of interface and click OK on the Interface Definition dialog box.
