Calculate Quantities for Analyses
You can enable calculation of any or all of the following quantities:
Stresses—Calculates stresses. For a modal or prestress modal analysis used in a dynamic time, dynamic frequency, or a dynamic random analysis, select this check box to increase the speed of the dynamic analysis. Use the sim_modal_stress_superposition configuration file option to control the default selection of this check box.

* If you are running a modal or a pre-stress modal analysis that is not used in a dynamic analysis then the selection of the Stresses check box does not affect the performance. Select the Stresses check box to view stress results for the analysis.
Rotations—Calculates the rotation about each WCS axis over the entire model. Creo Simulate never calculates rotations if your model consists only of solid elements, even if this item is selected. Rotations are always zero for these element types.
Reactions—Calculates the reaction forces and moments present at constrained points and edges. Creo Simulate does not report reaction data at constraints associated with a link, a beam release, a fastener, a weld, a non-Cartesian coordinate system or a Cartesian coordinate system which is not orthogonal to WCS.
Local Stress Errors—Calculates local stress error estimates.
Mass Participation Factors—Calculates and records mass participation factors and effective masses at the end of a modal analysis. These values are recorded in the summary .rpt file. This information helps determine if additional modes are needed to accurately capture dynamic response.
This check box is available only for modal and prestress modal analyses.
Ply Stresses—Calculates the stress on each ply of a laminate. This option only appears if your model has laminate shell properties and becomes available when you select Stresses. The Ply Stresses option is not available for contact analyses.
Filter negative buckling load factors—This check box is available only for buckling analyses. When this check box is selected Creo Simulate computes more buckling modes than requested and reports the exact number of nonnegative buckling load factors as requested. A message is printed to the rpt file indicating that negative buckling loads are filtered.
You cannot access results for any quantity that is not selected on the Output area.
For static, prestress static, large deformation static, contact, and buckling analyses, all stress and rotation measures are calculated even if you do not select Stresses and Rotations on the analysis dialog box. But when you select Stresses, Rotations, or Reactions you cannot obtain the same results.
