Nonlinear Options
If the Nonlinear / use load histories check box on the Static Analysis Definition dialog box is selected, the Nonlinear options area appears. The relevant causes of nonlinearity are highlighted. Select the Calculate large deformations check box to calculate results with geometric nonlinearity.
The cause of nonlinearity in the model can be:
Contact Interfaces
Hyperelasticity
Plasticity
Springs with a nonlinear force-deflection curve
If a model has any of these nonlinearities the Nonlinear / use load histories check box is selected by default. You can run the following types of nonlinear analyses:
Static Analysis of Models with Large Deformation
Static Analysis of Models with Contact Interfaces
Static Analysis of Models with Hyperelastic Materials
Static Analysis of Models with Elastoplastic Materials
Static Analysis of Models with Nonlinear Springs
