To Create or Erase a Pipe Solid
1. Click Pipe Solid. The Pipe Solid dialog box opens. Alternatively, right-click the pipe segment and click Solid > Create to create a pipe solid.
2. Under Select Pipelines / Segments, click Pipelines to select a pipe or click Segments to select pipe segments.
 
* You cannot select fitting components when you select pipe segments to create pipe solids.
3. Click to select a pipeline or a pipe segment. The Selected Pipelines / Segments table displays the following details of the selected pipeline or pipe segment.
The table displays the following information:
Status—Displays the following options:
—Indicates pipe segments with no associated pipe solids.
—Indicates pipelines with no associated pipe solids.
—Indicates pipelines and pipe segments with associated pipe solids
Pipelines / Segments—Displays the pipeline labels for the selected pipelines or pipe segments.
Solid Name—Displays the name of the pipe solid. Double-click the name to edit it.
Solid Start Part Name—Displays the name of the solid start part specified by the pipeline_solid_start_part_name configuration option. Double-click the name of the solid start part to edit it.
4. Under Select Insulation Option, click one or both of the following options:
Pipe solid—Only pipe solids are generated or erased for the selected pipelines or pipe segments.
Insulation quilt—Only insulation quilts are generated or erased for the selected pipelines or pipe segments. You can generate insulation quilts only if you have assigned appropriate insulation parameters to the selected pipelines or pipe segments.
 
* When insulation is assigned to the selected pipe segments, insulation quilts are automatically generated when pipe solids are created.
5. Do one of the following:
Click Make to create the pipe solid for the selected pipelines or pipe segments.
Click Make and close to create the pipe solid and close the Pipe Solid dialog box.
Click Erase to remove the existing pipe solid for the selected pipelines or pipe segments.
 
* Erase is available only when you have existing pipe solids for the selected pipelines or pipe segments.
