Creating a New Auto-Selection Pipe Record
Use the sample files provided at
<Creo load point>\Common Files\help\sample_models\piping when working in this exercise. It is recommended that you create a copy of the
piping folder on your computer and
set up piping data before you start working with the tutorial.

An Auto-Selection file is required to define specification records.

2. Click
Spec DB. The
Define Piping Specification dialog box opens.
3. Click
to open the
Open File dialog box.
4. Double-click gs_asfile.ptd to open the Auto-Selection file.
5. In the Category box, select PIPE.
6. In the Master Catalog box, select pipe/pipe_steel.
7. In the Material Code box, select AB.
8. In the Schedule box, select 40.
9. In the End Type box, select BE.
10. Click
next to
Sizes to edit the pipe sizes. The
Size Table dialog box opens. Clear all the check boxes.
11. Select 150A, 200A, and 250A to make these sizes available.
12. Click OK to save all the changes. The Size Table dialog box closes.
13. Under Select Stock Number Format, perform the following actions:
a. In the Keyword box, select MATL_CODE.
b. In the Delimiter box, select –.
c. In the Keyword box, select SCH_RATE.
14. Under Select Material Classification Code Format, perform the following actions:
a. In the Keyword box, select SCH_RATE.
b. In the Delimiter box, select –.
c. In the Keyword box, select SIZE.
15. Select Allow Bend and Allow Miter check boxes to enable corner bends and allow mitered corners for the selected pipe.
16. Click
to add the displayed pipe record to the Auto-Selection file.
17. Click
to save the Auto-Selection file.
18. Click File > Exit.
