About Standard Hole Parameters
The following table lists all the parameters available for standard holes.
You can view the parameters by right-clicking a hole in the Model Tree and choosing either Parameters or Information > Feature Information. Parameters also appear on the Properties tab of the Hole tool.
If you define custom parameters in the .hol file, the custom parameters, along with their values, are automatically added to the standard hole.
Parameter
Description
THREAD_SERIES
The type of hole standard used (for example, ISO, UNC, UNF, NPT, NPTF, ISO_7-1).
SCREW_SIZE
CBORE_DIAMETER
Counterbore diameter.
CBORE_DEPTH
Counterbore depth.
CSINK_DIAMETER
Countersink diameter.
CSINK_ANGLE
Countersink angle.
PITCH
For ISO standard threads, the distance between threads.
For other threads, the number of threads per inch.
DRILL_POINT_ANGLE
Available for non-tapered holes with variable depth.
DRILL_DEPTH
Available for holes with variable depth.
DRILL_DIAMETER
Available for non-tapered holes.
THREAD_DIAMETER
Available for non-tapered, threaded holes.
THREADS_PER_INCH
Available for threaded holes.
THREAD_DEPTH
Available for both tapered or non-tapered holes with variable thread depth.
BOTCSINK_DIAM
Bottom countersink diameter. Available for non-tapered holes with an exit countersink.
BOTCSINK_ANGLE
Bottom countersink angle. Available for non-tapered holes with an exit countersink.
PIPE_OD
The outside diameter of a pipe. Available for tapered holes.
THREAD
Threads per inch, or pitch (if metric). Available for tapered holes.
PERCENT_THREAD
Ratio describing the actual engagement of fastener threads. Available for tapered holes.
THREAD_LENGTH
The length of the threaded part of the hole or fastener. Available for tapered or non-tapered, variable depth, threaded holes.
HANDTIGHT_LENGTH
The distance that a pipe thread can be screwed into a fitting by hand before it jams. Available for tapered holes.
WRENCHING_LENGTH
The distance that a pipe thread can be screwed into a fitting using a wrench  before it jams. Available for tapered holes.
MAJOR_DIAM_START
The diameter of the largest part of a thread across the top of the thread. Available for tapered holes.
PITCH_DIAM_START
The top of a cylinder along the threading whose diameter is half the distance between the crest and the root of the threading. Available for tapered holes.
MINOR_DIAM_START
The diameter of the smallest part of a thread across the top of the thread. Available for tapered holes.
MAJOR_DIAM_END
The diameter of the largest part of a thread across the bottom of the thread. Available for tapered holes.
PITCH_DIAM_END
The bottom of a cylinder along the threading whose diameter is half the distance between the crest and the root of the threading. Available for tapered holes.
MINOR_DIAM_END
The diameter of the smallest part of a thread across the bottom of the thread. Available for tapered holes.
THREAD_HEIGHT
The distance between the minor and major thread diameters measured along the radius. Available for tapered holes.
THREAD_ANGLE
The angle between the sides of a screw thread, measured in an axial plane. Available for tapered holes.
TAPER_ANGLE
The angle between the smaller and larger diameter along the length of a taper. Available for tapered holes.
WASHOUT_ANGLE
The angle between the surface at the point that threading begins, and the thread root at the point at which the threading achieves its full depth, over the length of the washout thread. Available for tapered holes.
TOOTH_RADIUS
The radius of the rounding at the thread crest (at the tip of each tooth) or thread root (between teeth). Available for tapered holes that use ISO data.
user_defined
User defined column names in the referenced hole file.
CLASS
The tolerance class of the hole is taken from the hole file.
METRIC
YES for models that use metric units.
NO for models that do not use metric units.
