About the Copy User Interface for Surfaces and Curves
The Copy tab consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Model > Copy to select surface sets or chains to copy. When you click Paste, the Copy tab opens.
Commands
Reference collector—Displays surface sets to copy.
Curve type list
Exact—Creates an exact copy of the selected curve or edge.
Approximate—Creates a datum curve that approximates a chain of tangent (C1 continuous) curves by a single continuous curvature (C2 continuous) spline.

* Approximate curves cannot be created on joint angles greater than 5°.
Tabs
References
Copy references collector—Displays surface sets to copy.
Details—Opens the Surface Sets dialog box to edit surface set properties.
Chain collector—Displays curves or edges to copy.
Details—Opens the Chain dialog box to edit chain properties.
Options
Copy all surfaces as is—Creates an exact copy of the selected surfaces.
Exclude surfaces and Fill holes—Copies some of the surfaces with an option to fill holes within the surface.
Exclude Contours collector—Selects contours to exclude from the current copy feature.
Fill holes/surfaces collector—Selects holes to fill on the selected surfaces.
Copy Inside boundary—Copies only the surfaces that lie within a boundary that you define.
Boundary curve collector—Defines a boundary to contain the surfaces to copy.
Untrim to envelope—Copies the surface or quilt and removes all internal contours. For the copied surface or quilt, it creates an outer contour using an envelope of the current contour. For quilts, copies each surface of the quilt, resulting in a separate quilt for each copied surface.
Untrim to domain of definition—Copies the surface or quilt and removes all internal contours. For the copied surface or quilt, it creates an outer contour that corresponds to the surface domain of definition. For quilts, copies each surface of the quilt, resulting in a separate quilt for each copied surface.
Properties
Name box—Sets a name for a feature.
—Displays detailed component information in a browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access shortcut menu commands.
When a surface set is selected:
Solid Surfaces—Selects all the surfaces of a solid object at once.
Copy all surfaces as is—Creates an exact copy of the selected surfaces.
Exclude surfaces and Fill holes—Copies some of the selected surfaces with an option to fill holes within the surface.
Copy Inside boundary—Copies only the surfaces that lie within a boundary that you define.
Untrim to envelope—Copies the surface or quilt and removes all internal contours. For the copied surface or quilt, it creates an outer contour using an envelope of the current contour.
Untrim to domain of definition—Copies the surface or quilt and removes all internal contours. For the copied surface or quilt, it creates an outer contour that corresponds to the surface domain of definition.
When a curve or edge is selected:
Exact—Creates an exact copy of the selected curve or edge.
Approximate—Creates a datum curve that approximates a chain of tangent curves by a single continuous curvature spline.
