To Split a Surface Region Using Automatic Selection
1. Click
Model >
Editing >
Split Surface. The
Split Surface tab opens.
2. Click
to select automatic contour selection.
3. Click the Placement tab, click the Split Surface collector, and in the graphics window select a solid surface or quilt to split.
4. Click the Excluded contours collector, and in the graphics window select contours to exclude from the Split Surface Region feature.
5. Click the Options tab and select an option:
◦ To create several split surfaces, one for each contour included in the Split Surface Region feature, select For each selected contour separately.
◦ To create one split surface from all the contours included in the Split Surface Region feature, select For all selected contours together.
6. Click
. A Split Surface Region feature is created that you can work on independent of the original surface.
