About Renaming Objects
You can use the Rename dialog box to assign the default names or assign a different name to components, features, and geometry. The Rename dialog box opens when you click File > Prepare > Model Properties and click change in the Names line in the Model Properties dialog box that opens. Naming these objects makes it easier to select them. For example, you could name an alignment hole for an assembly align_hole_1.

Names can contain up to 31 characters. They cannot include spaces.
If a datum point array feature contains a single point only, the name of the point and the name of the feature are identical.
You can rename Family Table instances using the Family Table functionality. In the Family Table, select the instance you want to rename and type in a new name.
