To Place an UDF Using Advanced Reference Configuration
1. Click Model > User-Defined Feature. The Open dialog box opens.
2. Select a UDF file, that is, a file that you want to insert in the manufacturing model and click Open. The Insert User-Defined Feature dialog box opens.
3. Select Advanced reference configuration to place the UDF group by mapping references.
4. Click OK. The User Defined Feature Placement dialog box opens to the Placement tab.
5. Select a reference from the References of Original Features list. The reference is highlighted in the reference model window.
6. Select a matching reference for the user-defined feature from the Model Tree or graphics window. The selected item appears in the reference collector.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all the references on the References of Original Features list.
8. Click to close the Advanced reference configuration dialog box.
The NC Steps dialog box opens. This dialog box lists the sequences that are used in the UDF. Using this dialog box you can modify tools and parameters of one or more sequences simultaneously.
9. To modify the tools and parameters of sequences used in the UDF, perform the following steps:
Select a sequence in the NC Steps dialog box and click Tools. The Tools Setup dialog box opens.
Modify the tools setup and close the dialog box. If an UDF has multiple sequences, the selected tool is assigned to all sequences.
Select a sequence in the NC Steps dialog box and click Parameters. The Edit Parameters dialog box opens. Modify the required parameters and close the dialog box. If an UDF has multiple sequences, the parameters of each sequence are displayed in a separate column.
10. The copied UDF is pasted in the Model Tree.
11. Repeat steps 4 through 9 to paste the UDF a number of times and create multiple copies of it.
