To Add User-Defined Parameters in Solid Tool Models
1. Set the mfg_custom_tool_param_file configuration option to the path where the user-defined parameter file is stored.
2. Create a parameter in the top-level assembly or part of the solid tool model and specify a value for the parameter. The parameter is valid only if it is a part of the user-defined parameter file.
3. Click Manufacturing > Tool Manager. The Tools Setup dialog box opens.
4. Retrieve the solid tool model By Reference or By Copy.
5. Click the User Defined tabbed page.
The parameters defined in the user-defined parameter file are displayed in the Tools Setup dialog box. If you have specified a valid value for the parameter you created in the solid tool model, Creo NC displays the specified value in the Tools Setup dialog box instead of the default value from the user-defined parameter file. The specified value is a valid value only if it is available in the user-defined parameter file, either as one of the options for the parameter or in the valid range. If the specified value is not valid, Creo NC displays the default value from the user-defined parameter file in the Tools Setup dialog box.

* You can modify one or more existing parameters in the solid tool model by making the necessary modifications to the tool parameter file. To update these modifications in the Tools Setup dialog box, click Reload UDP file in the User Defined tabbed page. Creo NC displays the parameter values from the solid tool model, if available, in the Tools Setup dialog box. If the parameter value is not available in the solid tool model, Creo NC displays the value from the user-defined parameter file in the Tools Setup dialog box.
