Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) > Construct Steps > Construct Point > To Create an Intersect Point

To Create an Intersect Point
By using the Intersect option, you can create a Constructed Point at the intersection of two lines or of a line with a plane.
1. Click Inspect > Point. The CMM Construct tab opens.
2. Select the parent reference Csys from the Parent Csys drop-down list.
3. Select Intersect from the Type drop-down list.
4. Select 2 measure or construct steps.
a. Select a measure or construct step of the following types:
Line
Cone (cone axis)
Cylinder (axis)
b. Select a measure or construct step of the following types:
Line
Plane

* If you select two lines that are not coplanar, then the order of selection is important. The system creates the constructed point at the intersection of the first line with an imaginary plane that passes through the second line and is normal to the first line.
5. Click OK.
