About Automatic Color Matching
This topic provides information about how colors are assigned to the models when using automatic color matching.
When you prepare a model for printing, you can explicitly assign colors to it, or you can automatically match the 3D printer colors to the model colors. When you use this option, the system calculates, using a distance formula, the closest 3D printer color that is available in the palette, to the original model color. It then assigns the color to the models.
Auto-matching of colors is performed on parts. If assemblies are present on the tray, the system assigns colors to each part of the assemblies.

* The number of colors in the 3D printer might be smaller than the number of colors in your model, or the colors might be different. In this case, the model will be printed in only a few colors, or approximated colors.
