To Create a Linear or a Radial Pattern
1. On the Design tab, click the arrow next to Pattern, and then click Linear or Radial.
For a linear pattern:
1. The Linear Pattern tab opens. Select one or more entities to pattern.
2. Type a value or use the arrows to set the number of objects in a row.
3. Type a value or use the arrows to set the number of rows.
4. Drag the handles or type values in the live dimensions to change the incremental distance or the angle between objects.
For a radial pattern:
1. The Radial Pattern tab opens. Select one or more entities to pattern. A construction circle appears with the entity patterned about the circle. The default pattern uses three entities.
2. Click Clockwise or Counterclockwise to set the pattern direction.
3. Click Total to pattern the entities by the total number of degrees, or click Increment to set a different patterning increment.
4. Click the Rotate check box to rotate the result.
5. Set the number of patterned entities.
