To Export an Assembly as a Base IDX

ECAD > Exporting Data to ECAD > To Export an Assembly as a Base IDX

You can export a board outline (including any holes) and component placement information from Creo Parametric as an EDMD (.idx) file.

1. In an open board assembly, click File >

Save As >

Save a Copy. The Save a Copy dialog box opens.

2. Select EDMD (*.idx) from the Type list.

3. Click OK. The compare to design is exported, and log messages are written to the file ecad_out.log.

4. To view notifications, click

. The Notifications area shows the export errors and warnings.

It is important to save the board and the assembly if IDs were updated. When you save only the assembly the board is not saved.
