About the Bend User Interface
The Bend user interface consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Model > Bend to access the Bend tool.
Use the following configuration options to control the default values and behavior of selected tool settings:
board_drive_tools_by_parameters—Uses parameter values as the default values of selected tool settings and to automatically update features when parameter values change.
board_drive_bend_by_parameters—Uses parameter values to control the default value of bend angle and bend dimension location settings and to automatically update features when parameter values change.

* If you want to enable board_drive_bend_by_parameters, you must also set board_drive_tools_by_parameters to yes.
In the following descriptions, [<Parameter Value>] indicates that tool settings are controlled by parameters.
Commands
Bend Placement buttons:
—Bends the material up to the bend line.
—Bends the material on the other side of the bend line.
—Bends the material on both sides of the bend line.
—Flips the area that remains fixed.

* When you use the Flip button the original bend ID is applied to the new fixed side.
Bend Type buttons:
—Bends the material using a value to define the bend angle.
—Bends the material to the end of the surface.
Bend Angle list—Lists predefined and user-defined values. [<Parameter Value>] , an additional option, sets the angle according to the BOARD_BEND_ANGLE parameter.
Bend Dimension Scheme buttons:
—Dimensions the bend angle by measuring the resulting internal angle.
—Dimensions the bend angle by measuring the deflection from straight.
Bend Radius list—Lists predefined and user-defined values, and By Parameter for the bend radius:
Thickness—Uses a radius equal to the thickness of the segment.
2.0 * Thickness—Uses a radius equal to twice the thickness of the segment.
[<Parameter Value>]—Uses a radius set by the BOARD_BEND_RADIUS parameter.
Dimension Location buttons:
—Dimensions the bend from the outside surface.
—Dimensions the bend from the inside surface.
—Dimensions the bend according to the location set by the BOARD_RADIUS_SIDE parameter.
Tabs
Placement
Use this tab to select bend line references.
Bend surface or bend line—Displays a surface, edge, or curve reference.
When an edge or curve is selected, these options are available:
Details—Opens the Chain dialog box that displays detailed information about the selected edge chain.
Offset bend line—Offsets an edge or curve reference by a specified value.
Bend Line
Use this tab to sketch or locate the ends of a bend line, when a surface reference is selected.
Sketched bend line—Click Sketch to open Sketcher to sketch a bend line.
Bend line end 1—Sets the references for the first end of the bend line.
Reference——Displays the surface, edge, or vertex reference in the collector.
Offset reference—Displays the surface or edge offset reference in the collector. Specify a value in the box.
Bend line end 2—Sets the references for the second end of the bend line.
Reference—Displays the surface, edge, or vertex reference in the collector.
Offset reference—Displays the surface or edge offset reference in the collector. Specify a value in the box.
Transitions
Use this tab to sketch transition areas.
Lists any sets of transition areas. Click Add Transition to define a new transition area.
Sketch—Opens Sketcher to sketch a transition area.
Remove—Removes a transition area.
Flip—Flips the location of the transition area to other side of bend line.
Relief
Use this tab to define relief.
Define each side separately— Sets the relief for each side of the bend separately.
Side 1—Sets the relief for the first end of the bend.
Side 2—Sets the relief for the second end of the bend.
Type—Lists the types of relief:
No Relief—Adds no relief.
Slit
—Adds a slit relief.
Stretch—Adds a stretch relief.
Rectangular—Adds a rectangular-shaped relief.
Obround—Adds an obround-shaped relief.
[<Parameter Value>]—Adds a relief set by the BOARD_BEND_REL_TYPE parameter.
Bend Allowance
Use this tab to set a feature-specific bend allowance to calculate the developed length of the bend. When you click A feature specific set up, these options become available:
By K factor—Calculates the developed length according to the K factor. To change the value for K factor, type a new factor value or select a value from the list.
By Y factor—Calculates the developed length according to the Y factor. To change the value for Y factor, type a new factor value or select a value from the list.
By bend table—Calculates the developed length using a bend table. To choose a different bend table, select one from the list.
Properties
Use this tab to display detailed feature information.
Name—Shows a feature name.
—Shows feature information in a browser.
