About Importing Holes According to Priority
When a board outline consists of more than 5000 holes, you can configure the import so that the first 5000 holes imported to Creo Parametric include holes that suit your requirements. Additionally, you can prioritize the import of specific hole types, such as PIN and via. To view all holes, you can import them as lightweight.

 The default values of the ecad_pin_hole_import and ecad_via_hole_import configuration options indicate the priority of the hole types, PIN and via, in Creo Parametric. By default, ecad_pin_hole_import is set to no while ecad_via_hole_import is set to yes. |
In addition to ecad_pin_hole_import and ecad_via_hole_import, you can use the ecad_load_filtered_holes_to_ui configuration option to achieve the required results. When you these configuration options together, ecad_load_filtered_holes_to_ui controls the import of PIN and via holes. That is, hole types PIN and via are completely filtered out or their import status in Creation Method is set to Filter Out in the ECAD Input – Board dialog box as follows:
• All three configuration options set to no—Holes of type PIN and via are completely filtered out and are not listed in the ECAD Input – Board dialog box. You cannot recover them or import them back into the design.
• ecad_load_filtered_holes_to_ui set to no and ecad_pin_hole_import or ecad_via_hole_import set to yes—The import includes holes of type PIN or via. Their import status is set as Hole Features, Cut Feature, or Board Cutouts. You can change the import status to Filter Out.
• ecad_load_filtered_holes_to_ui set to yes and ecad_pin_hole_import or ecad_via_hole_import set to no—The import excludes holes of type PIN or via. Their import status is set to Filter Out. You can change the import status to Hole Features, Cut Feature, or Board Cutouts to import hole types PIN or via as hole or cut features or as part of the board outline.
• All three configuration options set to yes—The import includes holes of type PIN or via. Their import status is set as Hole Features, Cut Feature, or Board Cutouts. You can change the import status to Filter Out.
