To Retrieve Model Parameters in a Drawing Using a Format
You can use formats in drawings to retrieve model parameters that you define in a part or assembly.
You can retrieve model parameters that you define in a part or assembly, in a Drawing using Formats.
1. Open an existing model or assembly.
2. Click Tools > Parameters. The Parameters dialog box opens.
3. Select a parameter that has a defined value, or add a new parameter with its value.
4. Click OK to close the Parameters dialog box.
5. Open an existing format. Or, create a new Format.
6. Click the Table tab and create a table of the required size.
7. Select a table cell and double-click to insert text in the selected table cell.
Specify the text in the following format:
&<PARAMETER_NAME> or &<PARAMETER_NAME>:mdl
Where, <PARAMETER_NAME> is the name of the parameter that you have defined in the model or assembly in step 3.
8. Create a new drawing using the model or assembly name that has the required parameters. Specify the template as Empty with format, and specify the format that you had created in step 5.
The table defined in the specified format appears in the Drawing with the value of the parameter defined in the model or assembly.
