To Create an Offset Note
An offset note is grouped with a selected entity. You can bypass the leader setup options and specify only the note text and a reference entity to offset the text.
1. On the Annotate Tab, click the arrow next to Note and click Offset Note.
2. Select one of the following drawing entities as reference to offset the note:
Dimension
Dimension arrow
GTOL
Note
Symbol
Reference dimension
Datum point
Draft datum point
End point of an axis
A ghost line appears connecting the selected reference entity and the note text box as you drag and place the note text box. You can change the selected reference. Hold down the CTRL key and click an entity to replace the reference.
When you move the reference entity, the offset note associated with it also moves. The offset value is reset when you move a note independent of the reference entity.
3. Middle-click on the drawing to specify the location for the offset note. The Format tab opens. Use the commands on the Format tab to format the note text.
4. Type the note text and click outside the text box to place the note.
