About Dragging Model Annotations in Drawings
In the model environment, you can place a Datum Feature Symbol or a GTOL directly on a planar surface. However, you cannot drag these annotations beyond the surface boundary.
In a drawing view, you can drag these annotations beyond the surface boundary on an extension line, if the projection of the surface on the view is a straight line.
You can place a moved GTOL annotation back to its original model position in the following ways:
Right-click and select Restore 3D Dependencies on the shortcut menu to restore the model attach point of the leader and the position of the frame.
Click Options > Placement position > Driven by model to restore the position of the frame.
