To Export a Drawing to DXF or DWG as a Publish Deliverable
1. Open a drawing and click File > Save As > Export. The Export Setup tab opens.
2. Click DXF or DWG on the Configure tab.
3. Click Settings. The Export Environment for DXF or the Export Environment for DWG dialog box opens.
4. Select a version for the file type.
5. Click the Entities tab to set other options:
Splines as is or As Polylines.
Hatching as is or As Separated Entities.
Points as is or As Shapes.
Notes as Stroke All Characters, As Text,or as Stroke Special Characters.
Export multi-line note as MTEXT or as is.
UNICODE encoding to export the Unicode characters to DXF versions below 2007. This option is not available for DXF versions 2007 and above.
 
* UNICODE encoding is not available on the Export Environment for DWG dialog box.
Text Alignment as Fit or As Is.
6. Click the Sheets tab to set a sheet export option: Current sheet as model space, Current sheet as paper space, All sheets as paper space, or Selected sheets.
7. To select sheets for export, select a sheet number from the box under Sheet as model space.
8. Under Sheets as paper space, click to add a sheet to the Selected column or to remove a sheet from the Selected column.
9. Click the Misc tab.
Select the Export Blanked Layers check box to include blanked layers in the export; clear the check box to exclude them.
Under Assembly Structure, select As Layers or As Blocks.
You can also select either or both of the following options when exporting the assembly structure as blocks:
Nested—Preserves the assembly and component hierarchy during export to AutoCAD.
View Based—Creates assembly structure blocks for each view with the view block as the top block of each hierarchy.
 
* You can set the intf_out_layer configuration option to none, part_layer, block_layer, block_nested_layer, block_view_based_layer, or block_nested_view_based_layer to configure the layer options.
Select Create Comments on the Export Environment for DXF dialog box to create comments in the DXF file.
 
* Create Comments is not available on the Export Environment for DWG dialog box.
Select Preserve Breaks On Dimension Lines to export dimensions as geometric entities and preserve breaks on dimension lines.
Select JPEG or retain the default PNG as the Image Format.
10. Click the Properties tab to customize the following properties:
Line Fonts
Text Fonts
Colors
Layers
11. Select the Open Log Window check box to open the export log file when the export is complete.
12. Click OK in the Export Environment for DXF or the Export Environment for DWG dialog box to save the export settings.
13. Click Finish > Preview to preview the drawing and its export settings.
If the drawing does not suit your requirements:
Click Close Preview.
Click Settings and again modify the export settings in the Export Environment for DXF or the Export Environment for DWG dialog box.
Preview the drawing again.
14. If the drawing preview suits your requirements, click Finish > Export. The Save a Copy dialog box opens with Type set to DXF (*.dxf) or DWG (*.dwg).
 
* You cannot change the file type.
15. Accept the default name in New file name or type a new file name for the export.
16. Browse and select a folder for the exported drawing.
17. Click OK in the Save a Copy dialog box to export the drawing as a DXF (*.dxf) or DWG (*.dwg) publish deliverable.
18. Click Done > Close Export Setup to exit the Export Setup tab.
