About Exporting to CATIA V4
You require the Creo CATIA V4 Collaboration license to export part and assembly models to CATIA V4. You can export exact surfaces and solid geometry to CATIA V4 Model .model files. You can also export facet data and datum entities, such as points and curves of parts and assemblies.
You can create and use export profiles to customize the export of models to CATIA V4. You can use the CATIA V4 Export Profile Settings export profile editor to modify the stored CATIA V4 export profiles or create profiles that are specific to the CATIA V4 format, at the start of the session or at runtime, after you begin the export. You can choose to export exact solid geometry as wireframe edges, surfaces, shells, or solids, depending on type of representation you want to export. You can also include or exclude facet geometry and datum entities.
You can select one of the following options for the exported assembly structure:
Flat—Exports the assembly to a single master workspace of a CATIA V4 Model .model file. Each assembly component is exported as a separate volume. All the volumes of the assembly merge into a single master workspace. This is the default behavior.
Dittos—Preserves the structure of multiple-level assemblies in the CATIA V4 Model .model file. The assembly components are exported as CATIA dittos or volumes with a workspace for each volume into a single CATIA V4 Model .model file.
If the CATIA V4 model selected for export already exists, use the catia_out_to_existing_model configuration option to control conflict resolution. You can append data to the existing CATIA V4 model or overwrite the existing model.
