To Transform Geometry in IDD Using Orient Mode
1. Select the geometry that you want to transform.
2. Click Edit > Transform or right-click in the graphics window or the Model Tree and click Transform. The Transform tab opens.
3. Click the Move tab.
4. Select Orient Mode from the Motion Type list on the Move tab and click or View > Orientation > Orient Mode. A red spin center, , appears. Orient View is selected by default.
5.  Middle-click in the graphics window and drag to spin the selected geometry along with the imported feature.
6. To orient only the selected geometry, right-click and click Orient Object. A blue spin center, , appears. Drag to spin the selected geometry.
7. If required, right-click in the graphics window and click one of the following options to specify the type of drag for the selected geometry or the import feature:
Dynamic—The Orientation Center is displayed as . The orientation is updated as the pointer moves. The model spins freely about the Orientation Center. This is the default.
Anchored—The Orientation Center is displayed as . The orientation is updated as the pointer moves. Model rotation is controlled by the direction and distance the pointer is moved from its initial position. The Orientation Center changes color at each 90-degree interval. When you release the middle mouse button, the view is reset to its previous state.
Delayed—The Orientation Center is displayed as . The orientation is not updated as the pointer moves. When you release the middle mouse button, the pointer model orientation is updated.
Velocity—The orientation Center is displayed as . The orientation is updated as the pointer moves. The velocity, that is, speed and direction is the rate of manipulation and is affected by the distance the pointer is moved from its initial position.
8. To quit the orient mode, right-click in the graphics window and click Exit Orient Mode.
9. Click on the Transform tab to complete the transformation of the selected geometry.
