To Access AutobuildZ Functions in Creo Parametric
Before you access AutobuildZ functions, ensure the following:
You started Creo Parametric or a version of Pro/ENGINEER that is not earlier than Wildfire.
AutobuildZ is a plug-in application for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire. It is not available in Pro/ENGINEER versions earlier than Wildfire.
You set the autobuildz_enabled configuration option as follows in the config.pro configuration file located in the Creo Parametric working directory:
autobuildz_enabled yes
You can alternatively click File > Options and click Configuration Editor in the Creo Parametric Options dialog box to set autobuildz_enabled in the Options dialog box.
1. Click File > Open. The File Open dialog box opens.
2. Select a drawing file and click Open. The drawing opens in the graphics window.
3. Click the AutobuildZ tab.
4. Click the following options on the Process tab of AutobuildZ to set preferences for tasks, clean up the drawings, and define views and active parts:
Preferences—Opens the Preferences dialog box that enables you to specify preference values for different AutobuildZ operations.
Clean Up—Opens the Cleanup dialog box that enables you to automatically or manually clean up imported drawings of non-geometric entities.
View Setup—Opens the View Setup dialog box that enables you to select drafting entities on the drawing and logically group them to represent different views.
Part Setup—The Part Setup or the New Part dialog box opens.
The Part Setup dialog box enables you to define an existing part as the active part. If an active part already exists, the Part Setup dialog box allows you to select another part as the active part.
The New Part dialog box allows you to create a new part.
5. Click the following options on the Feature tab of AutobuildZ to create various feature types:
Protrusion
Revolve
Straight Hole
Datum Plane
Datum Curve
Datum Point
