About the Search Order for Check Status and Update
Consider the following information when checking the status of the Translated Image Models (TIMs) or Associative Topology Bus (ATB)-enabled features:
Creo Parametric first searches for the reference model in the absolute path stored in the TIM or the ATB-enabled features.
If you change the location of the reference model and the reference model is not found in the absolute path stored in the TIM or the ATB-enabled features, Creo Parametric searches for the reference model in the working directory.

* For a CADDS 5 reference model, Creo Parametric does not search for the reference model in the absolute path stored in the TIM or the working directory.
If the reference model is not found in the working directory, Creo Parametric searches the path specified as the value for the first instance of the atb_search_path configuration option.
Paths designated as values for the subsequent instances of the atb_search_path configuration option are then searched sequentially. The search order is consecutive.
When Creo Parametric finds the reference model in a valid path, the reference model is checked for changes based on the following format-specific criteria:
CADDS 5 and NX models are checked according to the revision numbers stored internally.
ICEM and CDRS formats use a file date, internal to the file, that corresponds to the date of generation of the file.
CATIA V4 and V5 R6 models are checked according to the system file date. CATIA V4 and V5 R6 models are out-of-date if the system file date of the CATIA V4 or V5 file changes even if you do not change the file.

* The system file date can change even if you make a copy of the CATIA V4 or V5 file.
TIM components and ATB-enabled features with reference files that are older than the last updated version of the imported model are identified as having broken links.
An appropriate warning message appears. Use the Change Link ATB command and select this older version of the file to update the TIM or the ATB-enabled import feature to this older version of file.
When you update the TIM component or the ATB-enabled feature, the full path location to the reference model is stored in the TIM component or the ATB-enabled feature. This path is first checked the next time you check the status of this TIM component or ATB-enabled feature.
All the defined search paths are searched sequentially and the first valid reference file found is used by the Check Status and Update functions. All the search paths are not searched for the latest version of the reference model file if more than one version of the reference file exists in multiple search-path locations. The latest version of the reference model must be in a location that is searched first.
