About the Retrieval Customization Component Chooser User Interface
When you click Open Subset in the File Open dialog box, the Retrieval Customization Component Chooser opens. Use it in Basic View to select the components to retrieve. Use it in Advanced View to select a representation of a component to retrieve. The Component Chooser consists of the following user interface items:
Basic View, Advanced View, Undo, and Redo, buttons

Basic View (default)—Retrieves selected components.
Advanced View—Retrievals all components in the selected representation.
—Undo
—Redo
Model Tree
The Model Tree displays the top–level component and all lower-level components. In Advanced View it displays the representation selected in a separate column.
Show (Basic View)—Sets the display of components in the Model Graphics window.
Check All—Shows all components.
Components to be retrieved—Shows only components to retrieve.
Components not to be retrieved—Shows components not to retrieve.
Show (Advanced View)—Sets the display of components in the Model Graphics window.
Check All—Shows all components.
Active—Shows active components.
Inactive—Shows inactive components.
Envelope—Shows envelope parts.
Search box—Searches in expanded nodes for the component typed in the box.
Select (Advanced View)—Includes the following commands:
Advanced Search—Opens the Search Tool dialog box for selection of components from the main window.
Select in main window—Enables component selection from the main window.
Model Rules (Advanced View)—Includes the following commands:
Evaluate Rules—Evaluates existing definition rules.
Edit Rules—Opens the Rep rule definition dialog box.
—Sets the Model Tree options.
Columns—Opens the Model Tree Columns dialog box. Use this dialog box to add or remove information columns.
Expand All—Expands all the Model Tree component nodes.
Expand To Selected—Expands the tree to display the components selected in the Model Graphics window.
Collapse All—Collapses all the Model Tree component nodes.
Save Tree—Saves the Model Tree to a text file.
Basic View shortcut menus—Right-click a component in the Model Tree
Retrieve—Sets the component to be retrieved.
Do not retrieve—Excludes the specified component.
Set Representation to (Advance View)—Sets the representation of the component.
Derived—Derives the status from evaluation of the simplified representation.
Exclude—Excludes the selected component.
Master—Sets the selected components to the default state of Master representation.
Assembly Only—Hides selected components while displaying assembly features. This option is available only for subassemblies and modules.
Geometry—Sets the selected components to Geometry representation.
Graphics—Sets the selected components to Graphics representation.
Boundary Box Rep—Hides the selected components and represents them with a boundary box.
Symbolic—Sets the selected components to Symbolic representation.
User Defined—Activates a simplified representation from the selected component.
Light Graphics Rep—Set the selected components to Light Graphics representation.
Substitute (Advanced View)—Substitutes a component.
Envelope—Substitutes the selected component with an envelope.
Family Table—Substitutes the component with a Family Table member.
Interchange—Substitutes the component with a member of an interchange assembly.
 
* The representation and substitute commands are available when you select a representation in the Master Rep column and click the arrow.
To access Tree column shortcut menus, right-click the column header. To sort the column in ascending or descending order, click the column header.
Group By—Groups the nodes in the tree according to values in the column. Only one column can be grouped at a time. When you sort a second column, the nodes under each group are sorted.
Ungroup—Returns the components to the original structure. This command is the same as Options > Restore original structure.
Columns—Click More to open the Model Tree Columns dialog box. Add additional columns and click OK.
Model Graphics
The Model Graphics window displays graphics for selected components. When you click on a component in the Model Tree, without setting its status, it displays in wireframe in the Model Graphics window.
Show (Basic View)—Sets the display of components in the Model Graphics window.
Check All—Shows all components.
Components to be retrieved—Shows only components to retrieve.
Components not to be retrieved—Shows components not to retrieve.
Show (Advanced View)—Sets the display of components in the Model Graphics window.
Check All—Shows all components.
Active—Shows active components.
Inactive—Shows inactive components.
Envelope—Shows envelope parts.
—Sets the display of components in the Model Graphics window.
Show Hidden—Shows hidden components.
Auto highlight on selection—Highlights selected components.
Auto update preview—Automatically updates components.
Update Preview—Shows updated components.
Model Graphics toolbar—Use the buttons to quickly select components.
—Sets a filter to remove components smaller or larger than the specified size from the selection.
Slider—Move the slider to filter smaller or larger components. When you click (default) all components below this size are removed. When you click all components above this size are removed.
—Select a component to determine the size of components removed from selection.
—Removes all internal components from selection.
—Removes all external components from selection.
 
* Click the arrow to display the previous two options.
—Inverts the selection between selected and not selected components.
—Retrieves only currently selected components.
 
* The default values for the size filter and the resolution of external components selected are set by the Component retrieval settings.
Frame selection buttons—When you click and drag a frame to select components the following buttons allow you to select all components or only external components.
—Selects all components.
—Selects all external components.
Basic View shortcut menus
Retrieve—Retrieves the component.
Do not retrieve—Does not retrieve the component.
Isolate—Excludes all components not currently selected.
Hide—Hides the selected component.
Unhide—Unhides the previously hidden component.
Unhide All—Unhides all hidden components.
Shaded—Displays the model as shaded.
No Hidden—Displays the model with no hidden lines.
Hidden Line—Displays the model with hidden lines.
Wireframe—Displays the model in wireframe.
Refit—Refits the model view to the Model Graphics window.
Next—Selects the component closest to the pointer.
Previous—Selects the previous component.
Pick From List—Opens a list of components adjacent to the pointer. Select a component from the list.

Representation—Sets the representation of the component.

Use the buttons to customize the display of areas in the Retrieval Customization dialog box.
Model Graphics window position buttons—Sets the position of the Model Graphics window.
—Appears to the right of the Model Tree.
—Appears under the Model Tree.
—Appears on top of the Model Tree.
—Appears to the left of the Model Tree.
—Hides or unhides the Model Tree area.
—Hides or unhides the Model Graphics area.
