Divide Surface Feature — Creo Ansys Simulation
The Divide Surface Feature in Creo Parametric 9.0 replaces the Surface Region feature. It enables you to split a surface so you can perform an operation on a portion of a surface. Surface regions can then be selected just like regular surfaces. You can define simulation entities such as loads constraints and boundary conditions on surface regions. To create a surface region you must select a parent surface on which you want to create the surface region. Then choose the method to use to split the parent surface. You can use either a closed sketch or a chain of edges or curves.
Note the following when using the Divide Surface feature for Creo 9.0 and later.
Surface Region features created in Creo 8 and earlier are retrieved as Divide Surface features in Creo Ansys Simulation 9.0 and later and promoted automatically as Creo Parametric features.
They can be edited as Divide Surface features in Creo Parametric only.
Divide Surface features created in Creo Parametric 9.0 and later are available as parametric features and can be selected as references for simulation entities.
