About the Divide Surface Feature in Sheet Metal
You can use the Divide Surface feature, and the related Unify Surfaces feature, for the following cases in Sheetmetal:
Convert a regular part to a Sheetmetal part:
You can convert surfaces that were created by the Divide Surface feature to Sheetmetal like any other surfaces.
Create a Divide Surface feature on a sheet metal part:
Create a Divide Surface feature on a sheet metal part to use the Divide Surface feature as a semantic reference for PMI (Process Manufacturing Information).Create the Divide Surface feature as one of the last features. The only features that can be created after the Divide Surfaces feature are Bend or Unbend features, Flat Pattern features, or annotations.
You can use the Unify Surfaces tool to combine surfaces that were previously divided and that belong to the same body or quilt.
