Configurations Options for Render Studio
advanced_rendering_mode
auto*, gpu, cpu
Specifies the mode for real-time rendering. Selection of any option takes effect in the next session.
auto—Runs Render Studio in GPU mode if the system hardware supports it, otherwise runs the application in CPU mode.
gpu—Runs Render Studio in GPU mode and allows denoising in real-time rendering.
cpu—Runs Render Studio in CPU mode even if the hardware can run the application in GPU mode.
blended_transparency
independent*, yes, no
independent—Gives a high-quality order independent transparent effect to the model. The effect is produced from hardware accelerated graphics cards.
yes—Gives a low-quality blended transparent effect to the model. The effect is produced from software processing and thus takes more time to show up.
default_scene_filename
<path to scene file>
Specifies the complete path to the default scene file. It allows the user to preset settings for lights, rooms and effects when modeling. These user-defined settings are saved in the scene file to which this configuration option points.
denoise_render
yes, no*
Sets the denoising effect before you start the real-time rendering process. You can still toggle on or off the denoise effect if needed. Selection of any option takes effect in the current session.
yes—Turns on denoising when you start real-time rendering.
no—Turns off denoising when you start real-time rendering.
enable_opengl_shader
yes*, no
Sets the graphics environment and its capabilities when you use the OpenGL accelerated graphics hardware. When you set this configuration option to yes, the following advanced capabilities of the OpenGL are enabled:
• HDRI lighting
• Ambient occlusion effect
• Order independent transparency effect
• The display of advanced materials such as metal, ceramic, and rubber in the Shading With Reflections mode
enable_ambient_occlusion
yes*, no
Allows you to set the default option for displaying the ambient occlusion effect during real-time rendering at the start of a Creo Parametric session.
yes—Displays the ambient occlusion effect. Ambient occlusion simulates the effect of light radiating from a real model by darkening the occluded areas.
no—Does not display the ambient occlusion effect.
enable_transparent_text_bg
yes, no*
Yes–Display text with a transparent background.
No–Display text with an opaque background.
graphics_library_dir
Valid path
Allows you to specify a different location for the graphic-library directory. This directory contains the system libraries for scenes and appearances and is available, by default, in the <loadpoint> directory. To change the location of this library, set graphics_library_dir to the required directory. For example, if the graphic-library directory is available in C:\ptc\graphiclib\graphic-library, set graphics_library_dir to C:\ptc\graphiclib.
The graphic-library directory must contain the following subdirectories:
• textures for appearance placement editor system libraries with image files.
• materials for Appearance Gallery and Appearances Manager system libraries with appearance files (.dmt) that are organized in subdirectories based on appearance classes.
• adv_material containing advanced appearance libraries that are organized in subdirectories based on appearance classes.
• HDRI directory with HDRI files (.hdr).
• scenes for the default gallery (.scn) for the Scene tab in the Scenes dialog box.
max_image_dimension
4096*, 1024, 2048, 8192, 16348
Sets the maximum size of images imported into Creo Parametric. For example, if the value is set to the default of 4096, then images larger than this value are rescaled to the size of 4096 when they are imported. Creo Parametric maintains the aspect ratio of the image during rescaling.
pro_colormap_path
Valid path
Specifies the path for appearance.dmt files or color.map files to be loaded from the disk. By default, the appearance.dmt files specified in the pro_colormap_path are loaded in preference to the color.map files.
|
The color.map files are used for appearance files in releases prior to the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire release.
|
save_scene_with_file
yes, no*
yes—Updates the model with all the modifications made to the active scene, every time the model is saved.
no—Does not update the model with the modifications made to the scene whenever the model is saved.
|
When you set the save_scene_with_file configuration option to yes, the save scene with model option in the Scenes dialog box remains selected for the session. Clear this option if you do not want to save the scene with the model.
|
save_texture_with_model
yes, no*
yes—Saves the texture images applied to the model or to the walls of the room with the model and the scene. You can delete the texture file after saving the model or the scene.
no—Does not save the texture images applied to the model or to the walls of the room, when you save the model or the scene.
|
• When you set the save_texture_with_model configuration option to no, only the name of the texture is saved with the model. In this case, on reloading the model or the scene, the textures are visible with the model only if the texture file exists in the directory set by the texture_search_path configuration option.
• Setting the save_texture_with_model configuration option to yes causes a significant increase in the file size of the models or scenes in which the textures are saved. Moreover, changes that you make to the independent texture files are not reflected in the respective textures that are saved with the models or scenes.
|
shade_quality
3*
Allows you to determine how much of the surface you can sub divide for shading. Higher value of shade quality renders better smoothness and details of the model surface. You can set the value for shade quality in a range of 1 to 50. The default value for shade quality is 3.
Rendering with higher shade quality is slower, but renders better quality pictures.
show_persp_type_om
yes, no*
yes—Shows perspective types in the View dialog box.
no*—Does not show perspective types in the View dialog box.
spherical_map_size
256x256*, 512x512, 1024x1024
Selects the image resolution of the environment map to be used for realtime rendering. Increasing the image resolution affects performance but improves quality.
|
This option is valid only in the OpenGL graphics mode and for graphics cards that do not support cubic environment mapping.
|
suppress_appearance_message
yes, no*
When you open assemblies or parts created in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0 or earlier, a message informs that the appearances on these models will be converted to a new Creo Parametric format. To disable the message set the configuration option suppress_appearance_message to yes. The default value no allows the message to be displayed.
texture_search_path
Valid path
Appends a directory to the search path for textures. You can specify more than one directory.
window_gamma
<float>
Controls the brightness of the rendered image. Values less than 1 darkens the image. Values more the 1 brighten the image. The default value is 1.0.
