To Connect Pipeline Segments
1. Click Connect. The Connect dialog box opens.
2. Press CTRL and select two Ends for the connect feature.
3. Select one of the following options from the Editable Dimensions list to modify the length and angle of segments used to form the connect feature. The dimensions you are editing appear in red in the connect sketch on the left.
L1&L2—Sets an offset from both ends of the connect. Select a Length 1 and Length 2 option:
Offset End—Drag the handle or type a value to set the length of the segments from the connect ends.
Offset Reference—Select a datum plane or coordinate system perpendicular to the end axis or csys axis to define the offset reference. Type an offset value.
L1&A2—Sets an offset from the first end of the connect and the angle between the middle segment and the second end. Select a Length 1 option and type an Offset End value or select an Offset Reference and type an offset value. Type an Angle 2 value to specify the second corner angle.
L2&A1—Sets an offset from the second end of the connect and the angle between the first segment and middle segment of the connect. Select a Length 2 option and type an Offset End value or select an Offset Reference and type an offset value. Type an Angle 1 value to specify the corner angle for the first end.
A1&A2—Sets the angles between the end segments and the middle segment of the connect. Type Angle 1 and Angle 2 values. This option is available only when both connect ends are non planar.

Driven dimensions is the default for newly created connect features. The dimensions of connect ends are driven by connected geometry, and the extension value updates when you relocate connected components. However, you can specify a fixed dimension value. The extension value does not change when you relocate connected components. Delete the values to toggle between driven and fixed dimensions.
4. To edit the connect right-click it in the Model Tree or graphics window and click from the shortcut menu. The Connect dialog box opens.
5. Click .
