To Suppress or Delete Features
You can delete or suppress one or more features or components using the Delete and Suppress commands from the Model tab or from a shortcut menu. When you click the arrow next to Delete or Suppress on the Model tab, additional delete and suppress commands are available.
1. Select features or components in the Model Tree or in the graphics window.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
Right-click and select Delete or Suppress. The selected features or components and their children are highlighted in the Model Tree, and a Delete or Suppress message window appears. Go to step 3.
Click Model > Delete or Model > Operations > Suppress. Depending on the command you select, three additional (Delete or Suppress) commands appear. Click one of the following commands:
Delete or Suppress—Deletes or suppresses the selected features or components and all their children. The selected features or components and their children are highlighted in the Model Tree, and a Suppress or Delete message window appears. Go to step 3.
Delete to End of Model or Suppress to End of Model—Deletes or suppresses the selected features or components and all following features or components.
Delete Unrelated Items or Suppress Unrelated Items—Deletes or suppresses any features or components other than the selected features or components, and their parents.

Click to undo any of the commands described in step 2.
3. In the Delete or Suppress message window, perform one of the following actions:
To delete the selected items and all their children, make sure Delete all is selected, or to suppress the selected items and all their children, make sure Suppress all is selected. Then click OK.
To suspend all the children of the selected items, select Suspend all. Then click OK.
This suspends action on all the children. The feature or component is retained until the part is regenerated. You must then decide how to handle the feature or component.
To select a method to handle each child individually, click Edit Details. The Children Handling dialog box opens. Go to step 4.
4. In the Children Handling dialog box, perform one of the following actions:
To select a handling method for each child, in the row of the child feature or component, perform one of the following actions:
Under Status, select a handling method.
Right-click anywhere in the row, and select a command.
You can select more than one object in the Children Handling dialog box, however, only Delete and Suspend, or Suppress and Suspend, are available with a multiple selection:
Delete—Deletes the selected child.
Suppress—Suppresses the selected child.
Suspend—Suspends action on the selected child. The feature is retained until the part is regenerated. You must then decide how to handle the feature.
Freeze (Assembly mode only)—Keeps the selected feature in its current location and is available for components only.
Edit References—Edits the references of the selected feature. The Edit References dialog box opens.
Redefine—Redefines the selected feature. If you are redefining an object, the appropriate feature dashboard or feature dialog box appear.
Show References—Shows the references on which the child feature is dependent. The SHOW REF menu appears from which you can show the reference identifier and highlight the reference geometry for each reference of the highlighted child by stepping through the references using Next and Previous.
Info—Provides Feature, Model, Parent/Child, and Reference Viewer information on the selected feature.

If the feature has external children, Local and External tabs appear in the Children Handling dialog box. When you select an object in the dialog box, it is either local or external.
External children are suspended.
If you create a feature in a part and dimension it to another part in the assembly, the other part becomes the external parent. If you then suppress that external parent, the system highlights all the dependent children in blue, and displays the EXTCHILD menu. This menu allows you to stop the suppression of the feature, or suspend all the external children.
To delete or suppress all child features or components, under Set all as, click Delete or Suppress.
To suspend all child features or components, under Set all as, click Suspend.
5. Click OK.
