To Edit Round Geometry
1. Click Flexible Modeling > Edit Round. The Edit Round tab opens.
2. To select the round geometry to edit, click the Round surfaces collector, and select round surfaces or surface sets from multiple bodies and quilts.
3. To edit the shape of the round cross section, under Dimension Scheme, select a shape from the menu.
4. Edit any of the following parameters depending on the round type:
*
For features created in versions earlier than Creo 3, only the circular cross section shape is available.
Circular
To edit the round radius, perform one of the following actions:
Drag the handles.
Double-click the dimension, type a new number, and press ENTER.
Type a new number in the Radius box.
Conic
To edit the round sharpness, type a number from .05 to .95 in the Rho box.
To edit the round radius, type a new number in the D box.
C2 Continuous
To edit the round sharpness, type a number from .05 to .95 in the C2 box.
To edit the round radius, type a new number in the D box.
D1 x D2 Conic
To edit the round sharpness, type a number from .05 to .95 in the Rho box.
To edit the conic distance for one or both legs of the round, type a number in the D1 and D2 boxes. To switch the two leg lengths, click .
D1 x D2 C2
To edit the round sharpness, type a number from .05 to .95 in the C2 box.
To edit the conic distance for one or both legs of the round, type a number in the D1 and D2 boxes. To switch the two leg lengths, click .
5. To set additional attachment and propagation options, use the Options tab:
To choose not to attach round geometry to the underlying surface, clear the Attach round geometry check box.
*
When the Attach round geometry check box is not selected, the resulting geometry is a quilt. The appearance of the original solid surfaces is propagated to both sides of the resulting quilt.
To create surfaces at the ends where the round overlaps other geometry, select the Create end surfaces check box. This option is available when Attach round geometry is not selected.
Interfering rounds and chamfers are neighboring surfaces that have to be removed in order to enable editing. By default, they are automatically removed, and then recreated when editing is finished.
To choose not to recreate interfering rounds and chamfers, select the Remove interfering rounds and chamfers check box.
To propagate the Edit Round feature to all instances such that the pattern, mirror, or symmetry is maintained, click the Pattern/Symmetry/Mirror feature box and select the pattern, mirror, pattern recognition, or symmetry recognition feature.
6. Optionally, to remove the round geometry, click Remove Round.
*
If you cannot remove the round geometry with the Edit Round tool, try to remove the round with the Remove tool.
7. Click OK or middle-click to accept the feature.
