About Parameters in a Geometry Search
Click the parameters field to open a list of parameters that are relevant to the selected surfaces or surface regions. The parameters are arranged in groups, with a check box next to each group and next to each parameter option within the group.
You can select the check box next to any parameter option in the group, or not select any parameter option. If you do not select a parameter option, then any option in the parameter group is included in the search.
To close the parameters list, click anywhere in the Geometry Search Tool dialog box except in the parameters field.
The following parameters are available for searches using the Geometry Search Tool:
• Chamfer surfaces
The parameters available depend on the chamfer type. When searching for chamfer surfaces, the Geometry Search Tool searches for chamfer surfaces that have corresponding design objects in the model. The parameters that you specify apply to the design object.
◦ Distance that is > =, >, =, `<, < = to a value
◦ Angle that is > =, >, =, <, < = to a value
◦ Offset that is > =, >, =, <, < = to a value
◦ Convex or concave
• Conical surfaces
◦ Convex or concave
◦ Coaxial surfaces
• Cylindrical surfaces
◦ Radius that is > =, >, =, <, < = to a value
◦ Convex or concave
◦ Coaxial surfaces
◦ Exclude rounds from the search
• Planar surfaces
◦ Coplanar surfaces
◦ Parallel surfaces
◦ Exclude chamfers from the search
• Round surface
The parameters available depend on the round type. When searching for round surfaces, the Geometry Search Tool searches for round surfaces that have corresponding design objects in the model. The parameters that you specify apply to the design object.
◦ Radius that is > =, >, =, <, < = to a value
◦ Distance that is > =, >, =, `<, < = to a value
◦ Sharpness that is > =, >, =, <, < = to a value
◦ Convex or concave
• Shape surface
◦ Surfaces that are identical to the reference surface
◦ Surfaces that are similar to the reference surface
• Toroidal surface
◦ Radius that is > =, >, =, <, < = to a value
