To Insert Steps from a Template
You can use manufacturing templates containing step information to insert the corresponding steps in a Process Table.
1. In a Process view, highlight the line after which you want to insert the steps from template.
2. Click . The system opens the file browser. It lists only files with the .xml extension.
3. Select the template file name and click Open. The system inserts all the steps included in the template file after the selected line in the Process Table. The step names, tools, and parameters are derived from the template. All the geometric references need to be defined unless the mfg_auto_ref_mfg_template configuration option is set to yes. The Status cell shows the first missing element that needs to be defined.

If the operation where the steps are inserted has a coordinate system associated with it, Creo NC automatically uses them for the newly created steps.

b. The retract surfaces for the steps, if stored in the template, are also extracted. Otherwise, the retract surface of the operation is used. If retract is not specified in Template or even in operation, then steps are created with incomplete retract definition.
4. If a step inserted form the template has missing elements, select it in the Process Table and click . Then define the missing elements, as needed, for example, select the surfaces to mill.
