Rules for Extracting Manufacturing Annotation
When you extract manufacturing annotation, Creo NC derives its elements from the information in the manufacturing annotation feature based on the following rules:
The step name is the same as the step name in the manufacturing annotation feature. If the Process Table already contains a step with this name, Creo NC appends a number to the step name, such as _000, _001, and so on.
If the current workcell already contains a tool with the same name as the tool name in the manufacturing annotation feature, this tool is used for the step.

It is important that your tool names uniquely identify the tools. Creo NC uses the tool from the workcell even if its parameters are different than those defined in the manufacturing annotation feature.
If the tool does not exist in the current workcell:
Creo NC searches other workcells in the current manufacturing process for a tool with this name. If found, Creo NC adds the tool to the current workcell using the parameters from the other workcell.
If the tool with this name is not found in the current manufacturing process, then it is added to the current workcell using the parameters derived from the manufacturing annotation feature.
All the manufacturing parameters are derived from the manufacturing annotation feature.
If a coordinate system is defined in the manufacturing annotation feature, Creo NC automatically uses it for the step during extraction, overwriting the operation coordinate system (if defined). If a coordinate system is not defined in the manufacturing annotation feature, Creo NC uses the operation coordinate system.
If a retract surface is defined using an offset from the coordinate system in the manufacturing annotation feature, Creo NC derives the retract surface for the step using the offset from the step's coordinate system during extraction.
The geometric references are derived from the manufacturing annotation feature.
If the template has roughing, reroughing, finishing, or corner finishing steps, Creo NC automatically creates a mill window based on the reference curve selected while creating the manufacturing annotation feature.
If the template has Area, Profile, or Groove turning steps and the step orientation is not defined while adding the annotation feature, Creo NC checks the turn profile curve or the reference curve against the existing coordinate system to ensure that it is in the XZ plane and does the following:
If the reference curve is in the XZ plane, the turn profile is created. One end of the reference curve is mapped to the start of the turn profile and the other end is mapped to the end of the turn profile.
If the reference curve is not on the XZ plane, the turn profile is not created.
