To Define a Part as a Support Structure
You can define a solid part that was created in Creo as a support structure in the context of a tray assembly. To define a part as a support structure, it must be a sub-component of an assembly.
1. Open a tray assembly.
2. Select the solid part to define as support structures in the Model Tree or graphics window. You can select multiple parts, and parts from different branches of the assembly at the same time.
3. Right-click the part and select one of the following commands:
Set as support > Solid—Defines the part as a support structure with volume.
Set as support > Non-solid—Defines the part as a support structure without volume.
To change a part that you defined as a support structure back to a regular part, right-click the part and select Set as support > Unset.
After you define a part as a support structure:
The part is displayed in yellow.
The part is sliced as a support structure.
The support structure definition is saved at the part level.
If you insert the part into another tray assembly, it behaves like a support structure.
If you open the part in another environment, like part mode or assembly mode, the part behaves like a regular Creo part.
