To Retrieve an Instance During File/Open
You can retrieve an instance by name or by column.
To Retrieve an Instance by Name
1. Open a model that contains a Family Table by clicking File > Open. The Select Instance dialog box opens.
2. Click the By Name tab if it is not already active. Then, select the name of the instance from the displayed list. (You can also type the name of the instance.)
3. To preview the instance without opening it in a new Creo Parametric window, click Tools > Preview, or click . To open the instance in a new Creo Parametric window, click Open.
To Retrieve an Instance by Column
1. Open a model that contains a Family Table by clicking File > Open. The Select Instance dialog box opens.
2. Click the By Column tab. Then, select a column name from the Column list and a value (if there is more than one) from the Value list. The name of the instances that contain the specified column name and value appear in the Name box.
3. Select the name of the desired instance from the Name box.
4. To preview the instance without opening it in a new Creo Parametric window, click Tools > Preview, or click . To open the instance in a new Creo Parametric window, click Open.

To restore the entire list of instance names, click Restore.
