To Use the Repair Tool
1. Select a component or surfaces that belong to a component and activate them to enable access to the Repair tool. If there is only one base-level node in the tree and it is a component node, the Repair tool can be accessed without explicitly activating it. Repair is available only when an active surface set or an active component exists in the imported model.
Alternatively, you can select wireframes with unsatisfied topological connections and tangency conditions of the active surface set or the active component to access the Repair tool. Black wireframes represent unsatisfied topological connections and black arrows represent unsatisfied tangency conditions. You can set the selection filter to Unsatisfied Wireframe or Unsatisfied Tangency Wireframe to select one or more wireframes from the active component or the active surface set.
Explicitly selected wireframes or surfaces override the active component node or the active surface set.
To select the parent surfaces of the selected wireframes, right-click the selected wireframes and access Select parent surfaces on the shortcut menu.
2. Click Heal > Repair to apply repair algorithms to the surfaces of the active node.
The repair algorithm automatically runs. The Repair tab opens. All the options are not available for use. After the repair algorithm has automatically run, the resulting new surface or surfaces and their corresponding wireframe and tangency are displayed in the graphics window.

If a component node or a subset of a component node is not active, the Repair tool is not available.
Wireframe and tangency conditions that are not satisfied after Repair are executed and are displayed in black.
Blue wireframes formed by the addition of a UV-curve to a wireframe may be converted to general green two-sided edge wireframe by repair, if the repair operation reparameterizes one of the constituent surfaces of the blue wireframe.
Repair tool only changes the active geometry to satisfy the defined constraints of the Wireframe. If a gap is shared by a surface that is part of an active surface subset and a surface that is not part of the active subset, the Repair tool only modifies the active surface and or its boundaries to close the gap.
3. To change the display options in the graphics window, click the Options tab on the Repair tab and select one of the following options:
Display original Surfaces—Displays only the original surfaces and the corresponding wireframe and tangency.
Display new Surfaces—Displays only the computed new surfaces and the corresponding wireframe and tangency.
Display new and original Surfaces—Displays the original and new surfaces. No wireframe and tangency are displayed.
4. Check the Repair Tangency check box to fix the unsatisfied tangency conditions of the wireframes.

If you set the idd_repair_tangency configuration option to yes, Repair Tangency is selected, by default.
Clear the Repair Tangency check box to restore the initial tangency constraints. The object returns to the initial state that existed before the repair when you clear this check box
5. Click .
