To Add a Legacy Fastener
1. Start Creo Parametric.
2. ClickFile > Options > Configuration Editor and set the configuration option, show_selected_item_idtoyes. ClickOK.
3. Open your legacy fastener.
4. In the graphics window, move the pointer over the placement axis of your fastener and note the ID.
5. In the graphics window, move the pointer over the placement surface of your fastener and note the ID.
6. Open the fastener data file where you want to add your fastener.
7. Add the ID pair to the placement reference keywords SURFACE and AXIS. Be sure to separate the values by pressing the TAB key.
8. Search for the size of your fastener in the instance list.
9. Rename the instance to the name of your legacy fastener.
In this example the legacy nut MY-ISO4032–M10.prt is added to the fastener instance data file ISO4032-6.dat. The placement reference IDs are 129 for the SURFACE and 34 for the AXIS.
