About Vision Cones
Use vision cones to show a person's zones of visual acuity or field of vision as represented by a manikin. Each field of view in the graphics window is a transparent colored cone originating at the midpoint between the manikin's eyes.
Each colored cone represents a specific range of visual performance and is intended as an aid when placing objects that a person must be able to see in an environment. When the vision cones are showing, you can see and evaluate the following fields of vision:
• Peripheral (overall field of vision)—green
• Binocular (overlap of right and left fields of vision)—yellow
• Optimal (macula)—red
• Accurate (reading zone)—blue
|
The peripheral and binocular vision cones are associated with the position of the manikin's head, while the optimal and accurate vision cones are associated with the manikin's line of sight.
